Chinatown Excursion Part of Learning Experience
Chinese teacher Yuping Yang led 83 students, 10 faculty members and eight chaperones on a day of Chinese immersion.  First, students enjoyed a performance by Beijing Normal University singers and dancers at Lindblom High School on the city's south side.  Then, it was off to Chinatown for a two-fold experience: lunch at Cantonesia and a scavenger hunt comprised of various important sites throughout Chinatown.

Debate Team Scores Another Win
The AHSH Debate team is having a successful start to the season!  First, the debate duo of Elizabeth Best and Christine Vi beat out 42 other debate teams in November; then, the team grew to 36--18 duos--and Best and Vi did it again, but this time, it was for individual awards.  Best received seventh overall and Vi took home third place in the individual awards category.  Congrats to both freshmen and congrats to the Debate team.  The team is coached by AVID teacher Melina Luna and student teacher Jackie Wilber.
